Ninghai is set at the mid coastal line of East Zhejiang, between Sanmen Bay and Xiangshan Harbor with section of coastal line long as 176 kilometer. It’s one the open coastal cities first open by the state council. It has 20 administrative towns covering a total area of 1931 square kilometer with a population of 580,000 residents. The beautiful environment earns it a reputation as one of the national eco-city.

The geological location of Ninghai is favorable and the traffic is also convenient. The downtown is only 64 km from Ningbo Airport. Through the water way it connects Wenzhou, Xiamen, Hongkong in the south and with Ningbo, Shanghai, Dalian in the north. On the land the traffic network links the south and north, east and west with direct entrances in the boundary. The telecommunication, IDD services, and Internet extend the links abroad.
The economy complex of Ninghai is complete, which is leading by main lines like textile, machinery, rubber, plastic, mold, automobile, electronics, metals and so on. The economy also develops rapidly. A batch of enterprises turn into more large ones with lots of emergent products like Deli Group, Powerful Battery, Yixiu Children’ Garment, Daliangshan Beer and Xilin Pulling chart, which earned not only reputation but money.
Ninghai is appraised as a county with strong strength in Education by the provincial government. Its educational competence takes the lead in Zhejiang. Ninghai Economic Development Zone of Zhejiang Province

Ninghai Economic Development Zone is a provincial economic development zone approved by the provincial government. It was set up in 1994 with planned area of 20 square kilometer.
During these years, in the principle of ‘coordinated and rational plan, and continuously develop step by step’, the development zone forms an ideal environment with good prospect. The infrastructure and governmental agency here may give you complete service. At present there are over 400 domestic or foreign funded enterprises entered the zone, with total investment valuing 1 billion, which mainly making mold, electronics, plastics, stationery and so on.
Recently, in order to speed up the urbanization and economic development in accordance with the new plan of the whole county, the government adjusted the plan of the original development zone. In 2000, the development was divided into three parts as Techno-industry Park, East Ninghai Industry Park and Harbor Industry Park.

I. Technological Industry Park
The planned area of Techno-Industry Park is 17 square kilometer, among which the old ‘emergent industry park’ takes 9 sq km, the old techno-industry park takes 5 sq km, the foreign funded area takes 2 sq km, and the Tashan industry park takes the remains. The park has completed infrastructure construction for a land of 10 sq km. Around 420 enterprises have settled here with annual production turnout valuing 3.5 billion yuan, including over 80 foreign funded enterprises with FDI totaling USD 100 million. Its main industrial complex is machinery, mold, hardware, stationery, textile, electronics, and so on.

II. New-rising Industry Park
New-rising Industry Park is located at the northern side of Old Chengguan Town, in the original planned area of the economic development zone, with a land area of 6 square kilometers and planned investment in infrastructure facilities of RMB 0.35 billion yuan. It absorbs the new-rising manufactories in lines of machinery, mould and metal products scattering in the counties, and establishes concentrated production and trade area of mould and machinery, so forms macro scale effects and market effects of local industries. Up till now 100 enterprises have entered the park. The park is divided into 3 parts, named A ZONE; B ZONE and C ZONE. A and B have been constructed. The area of C ZONE is about 3.5 sq.kms, which is a enterprises with foreign investment assembled zone.

Ⅲ. Harbor Industrial Zone
The Harbor Industrial Zone, connected with Ninghai Town, lies in Qiangjiao Peninsula in which Xiangshang Harbor is surrounded. With a designated area of 76.28 square km., including land area of 41.7 square km and sea land 34.58 square km, the Harbor Industrial Zone has an excellent environment in which the industrial & economic develop rapidly as well as the environment protection. It is the largest comprehensive development zone in Ninghai, and the Guohua Power Plant which is a green and protecting-environment enterprise , with total investment of RMB 20 billion, has settled down in the north of the Harbor Industrial Zone.
