Yinzhou
Yinzhou District surrounds the urban district of Ningbo in east,south and west and extends in the shape of a butterfly.Yinzhou District is nearby Beilun Port---a good deep port in China. It covers an area of 1406 square kilometers with a population of 780,000. It is the largest and strongest among the districts under the city’s jurisdiction. Yinzhou is a place of glorious history, agreeable climate, rich native produce, convenient transportation and flourishing economy. In 2006, its GDP reached RMB 42.14 billion and financial revenue reached RMB 7.55 billion, GDP per capita reached over 7,000 US dollars, the comprehensive strength of Yinzhou ranked 11th among the Top Hundred Counties in China. Nearly 20,000 industrial enterprises have been established in Yinzhou district. An industry system supported by light industry & textile, garment, machinery, electronic, automobile parts and food has been formed. High and new-technology industries such as mechanical-electrical integration and new materials have become the new point of economic growth in Yinzhou.
Yinzhou enjoys favorable geographical advantages. It is located in the east coast of Zhejiang Province and the southern flank of the Yangtze River Delta. It is regarded as an important economic link in the Hangzhou Bay area, and is the gateway of Ningbo, as a port city. With Ningbo Lishe International Airport located in the vicinity, it is 18km away from the deep-water port Beilun, and a half hour drive to Hangzhou Bay Bridge which is under construction. Meanwhile, Yinzhou District tops all other similar areas in Zhejiang in respect of road density. There are four freeway entrances and exits. Shanghai-Hangzhou-Ningbo Freeway, Tongsan Freeway, Ningbo—Jinhua Freeway and Coastal Thoroughfare Ningbo Section are open to traficc to the full length. There are railway and transfer station in the district.
The open economy in Yinzhou District is developed. So far, more than 1000 foreign-funded enterprises have established in the district which come from more than 60 countries and districts. Such enterprises include BorgWarner and Walmart from U.S.; Metro from Germany; INTERBREW from Belgium; B&Q from UK; Marubeni, Itochu and Daiei from Japan and AKZO NOBEL from Holland. At present, there are 1796 foreign-funded enterprises have established their businesses in Yinzhou, with contractual and actual utilization of foreign investment reaching 3.57 billion USD and 1.91 billion USD respectively, and 154 foreign investment projects exceeding ten million USD. ranked the first in Zhejiang Province for consecutive three year.
Yinzhou will continue its way of active implementation of the economic development strategy giving priority to open economy, stress on the introduction of precision machinery, electronic information, textile & garment, automobile part, high-tech industry and tertiary industry like tourism and commerce etc. At the same time, Yinzhou will continue to strengthen the investment promotion and actively expands the development space.
